Butler describes Haunted Moon as "a collection of cosmic dronescapes created as solace from the stress of the process of moving house". Aptly it traces a migration between two galactic light sources: we're blasted out of the shuddering synthesiser refrain of "Solar Flare", stranded within the solemn darkness of "Astral Drift", and then dragged into the lunar storm that gathers throughout the title track. Repetition colludes with pulses at various paces - phasers, microtonal beats - to muddle the perception of passing time, while drones warp into Doppler arcs overhead. Some moments rouse into exploratory optimism; others into whirls of trepidation. It's a familiar emotional oscillation for anyone who's been set adrift between future and past, between point A and point B, whether in deep space or on the dual carriageway.

"Heavily based on -spectacular- synth work, the album evolves into three pieces, each of them leaning into a different mood- yet they all form a narration that is interconnected. Nothing less than a detailed manifestation of electronic/experimental music, with each piece laid upon a drone foundation functioning as the vehicle for the material to venture forth."
